While I can't be certain, it seems likely that the knee in the curve below results from this update.

Note the sudden change in slope on about June 23, 2024.  The computed slope, in downloads per day, for my SAM-1.3 changed from about 3.0 to about 0.3.  That is a ten fold decrease.  Yikes!

If you read the page at the above link, you will learn that "It is unclear exactly what type of spam this targets but if you notice any ranking changes over the coming week, it might be related to this spam update."

Why then did Google release an update that affected my Rosevear Software site adversely?  My site is not harmful.  Neither is it low quality, but I suspect that the Google filter was not clever enough to see that these pages, although compact and efficient, are yet high quality. Note that Google's Spam policies for Google web search mention quality.

This hurts, but I will continue in good faith.
